Great: m Greater: m Even Greater: m I have personally owned the Albion Duke, the Albion Steward, and the AA Knightly Riding Sword, and have used a few other Albions and one Angus Trim in cutting demos/practice. I have never ordered any of Beathan's leather gear, however, I have had a custom helm, pauldrons, and finger gauntlets made by him and the quality, customer service, and turn around time was outstanding. I would (and have) highly recommended him to other jousters and Schola practitioners and will co...

Hi Stephen,

I'll second the Beathan recommendation. My joust helm was made by his shop and it totally rocks (and I am selling it after my last joust this weekend :D ). I received it less than 3 weeks after I ordered it (and it was a custom job!).

Give him a yell.

Really BIG Weapons Demonstration

Hi All, In coordination with the Bristol Renaissance Faire Military Guild (Guild of St. Michael), the Compainie of the Northerne Sterre (the Living History part of the Historic Camelot Project) will be demonstrating a wide variety of medieval weapons against both soft and hard armour this weekend. T...

LAST JOUST FOR SIR LLOYD!

Hi All, I just wanted to cordially invite all of you to my last joust next weekend at the Camelot Medieval Harvest Fayre in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin (it is not nearly as isolated as the name makes it sound ). After 24 years, 12 concussions, 40+ broken bones, and more fun than any one man should be allo...

Hi Michael,

Yep, the poleyns. As I retire from jousting, I am still very active with both my educational presentations and with the Schola St. George and wish to put together a 14th century kit for both.

Is it possible to combine the splint legs (with the splints on the inside) with your 14th century knees (for a 14th leg harness)?

"Takes forever" is relative. I defy anyone to name an armorer that will get you a piece of armor not in stock in less than 6 months. The only way to get something quickly these days is to buy it off the peg (or make it). Beathan and Armour and castings. Custom made helm, pauldrons, and gauntlets in...

Merchants Wanted - Wisconsin Medieval Fayre

Due to the skyrocketing price of gas, we have had a few merchants politely bow out of our October fundraising fayre. We are therefore looking to fill their spots. If you know of any "period" merchants (especially candle, soap, leather/fur, or others) that would be available and interested, please ha...

I gotta admit that I am surprised that no one has snapped these up ! They are brand new (never hit with a stick) and they typically go for $295. $175 is a steal! I can give you some background, Uberfist bought these thinking that they would be large enough to joust with. While they are perfect for S...

Sigeric, If your friend can wait until after the first weekend of October, I would sell him my AC close helm for a really good price. Heck, if you guys wanted to come down to our fundraising faire in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on that weekend he could take it home with him. I am retiring from jousting af...

I joust, full contact, in an Armour and Castings Helm. It is as good, if not better, than many $1000 helms that I have owned and jousted in in the past. Beathan is great to work with and you can have him "custom" make your helm for a few bucks more (I mean literally, a few bucks). Mine has a 12ga sk...

Sounds like you had a great time! Gotta love ou...

The day after taking a lance shot to the crotch, I found that my squires had written "Don't forget your cup" on the back of my shield (I actually didn't notice it until I was already part way down the list - I was laughing so hard I missed the pass and took a good shot to my helm for good measure).
