Re: Tournament of the Phoenix to feature on CBS Sun Morn 10/

Gwen, I was actually thinking more along the lines of what the IJL and Rod are doing, rather than Charlies. I have posted publicly in the past about the real dangers of the "heavy armour" style of jousting - I did it for years and paid the price. However, that being said, there are more th...

You can't call him that unless you have met him first. You hurt his feelings if you question his personality based of his public relations material. I can see where you are coming from, but, that's the face he decided to show america and should be comfortable with the judgment given. And, based on ...

Re: Tournament of the Phoenix to feature on CBS Sun Morn 10/

I thought it was a great piece. The more positive media we can get, the better.

Now, if we could just get rid of the infighting between styles, we might actually make a serious go of this as a sport.

Just my two pence.

If your offer is still open, I would love to have it back. It may be awhile before I can pay you or I still have quite a few books left that we might be able to trade.

Talk to you soon,

Gideon, give Museum Replicas a call. They used to sponsor me with my jousting and they were willing to create Team USA tabards for the World Championships. They may be a good source for sponsorship.

Good luck!

I didn't intend to imply that he would "make a spectacle" over this, but, that if he felt that he was NOT allowed due process, that he would have spoken, as a Peer, to at least the King/Queen of his kingdom about the matter. I also said that I know "of" him - hell I could have f...

Re: Worst Pennsic XL Moments!

Balin, I understand and admire that you are very passionate about what you perceive, not saying that you are wrong and "they" are right, as what has to look to you to be extremely unchiv behavior on the part of the MC. If HG was not given the opportunity to find and bring defense witnesses...

Re: Worst Pennsic XL Moments!

I am sure that HG would have made it abundantly clear to the powers that be that he was wronged in the decision, and that he would have appealed the judgement. That he did not, to me, speaks volumes. Then you really don't know him as much as you think you do. Taking the high road and not causing mo...

I don't have a dog in this fight, I'm not even in the SCA at the moment, but I have a question: Balin, you said that HG was unfamiliar with the Marshal's Court and that he needed to have witnesses there. Did he make the Marshal's aware of this and, if so, why wasn't he allowed to ask for a break in ...
