Mercenary Tailor, Pitbull and Horsefriend

All three great armourers and honorable gentlemen. With them you will get rock solid armour, at a fair price, and be able to buy with confidence knowing that you will get the armour you ordered.

You might also try oxbowbooks.com - as they have a tremendous selection of historical books for sale at extremely low prices (got a number of my Graduate school texts there for way less than what they were being sold elsewhere). Try these links: Islamic World ; Crusaders ; or Medieval World Overview...

I'ved used pretty much every type of jousting shield out there (started jousting in '81) and have experience with both the HE shield and 12ga stainless (set up as a bolted on grande gard and a 12ga mild shield by Age of Armour). I want to throw in one more name - Vitus. Vitus sent me a couple of his...

I am also putting coat after coat of epoxy on 15 different shields. I cannot recommend Vitus' ecranche shields for jousting (SCA, Balsa, or even Heavy Armour styles), these things are nearly indestructable. If you are even giving the tiniest thought to jousting - get one of these TODAY! http://i237...

Well, Richard was killed by an arrow during a seige of a French castle. But, I have never seen any evidence that "seigers" tied bags of oil onto portcullis and then fired them (explosively)to burn through the gates. There are accounts of setting fires at the corners of non-round fortificat...

Lance and ecranche.

Nothing beats thundering down the list on a powerful horse, the point of impact, your lance splintering and you staying in the saddle after your opponent has given you their best shot. There is just something Zen about it.

Belts with period buckles and tips. You don't necessarily need to offer belt studs, but quality, reasonably priced, correct period belts with buckles/tips would sell across SCA/LARP/LH groups.

Thick leather vamplates for lances would also be on my list.
