I have a set of those shoulders and couters from Merctailor and they rock... need to get the fit just right or they get caught in the back... they look really sexy You really can't go wrong with the work that Al does at Merctailor. I did/have jousted in his gear for years. Top notch work and quality.

Leo, pass on to Steve and Tim how sorry I am to have missed it. I had hoped to have my kit back together in time, but it was not to be. That being said, I am back in the game as soon as my kit is complete and the horse I am training is ready to go. Sorry I missed getting to see North do some passes ...

Albion Moat Sale
Don't know if folks have been over to the Albion site lately, but they have put a ton of "project" swords up on the Moat Sale.

If I wasnt petrified - my wife and I would both come! Lufu, I promise that none of the horses will eat you . Why not come up, give it a look and talk with me, and, if you are comfortable, maybe we can set you up with some riding lessons. Who knows, you may be a born equestrian and just not know it!...

Gwen, I hope that you understand that I was complimenting you and Jeff for your efforts. My comments were made in context of the story - i.e. could jousting become a mainstream sport, which I don't honestly believe that it can (and I started jousting in 1981 and worked hard in the late 90s and early...

FS: couple swords - Lloyd's new joust armour fund!
Since I am going back into jousting and need new armour, I decided to let go two swords that I have been working on. A Windlass Sword of Ibelin and a Hanwei River Witham Sword and Scabbard. Both are decent cutters and have been used only (well, by me) for school shows and demonstrations. I would pre...

Jousting Article in New York Times
Extreme Jousting? Well, as one of the American-style jousters mentioned, I doubt that it will ever reach the level of interest in the American public that is needed for it to become "mainstream". I worked with Shane (and others) for years trying to get jousting on TV and get sponsors (yes...

Check these out:
http://www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... +Gauntlets
I have a set and have been playing with the idea of removing the finger lames and adding clam-style plates. They are extremely solid and would make good demis.
Just a thought (and the price ain't bad)

Moved - Joust Training in Wisconsin
Figured that it would probably be more appropos here: I will be holding classes on beginning jousting and medieval mounted skill-at-arms beginning in August in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. We will begin by holding a mounted skill-at-arms clinic at the stables in early August and, depending upon the turnou...

Trystyn, Not to speak for Lloyd, but seeing as most of the SCA equestrians (or equestriennes) hereabouts are female, I'm guessing that they're the bulk of who's around. I'll bet Bridei is all over this. Lloyd, which stables is it? Bridei is definitely all over it. She and Randy came out last week a...
