NEW patterns from Reconstructing History!

Just in time for all you SCA East Kingdom subjects prepping for Coronation, Reconstructing History is proud to announce new early 16th century patterns for men and women! [url=https://www.reconstructinghistory.com/rh608-1490s-pre-tudor-womans-kirtle.php?s=&c=22&d=190&e=32&q=1&p=6...

All the theses I downloaded were correct.

I think it's worth noting that this system is still in beta. There are probably some bugs to be expected.

I'm having a great deal of fun with this!

New Thesis Source

Fellow seekers: Sorry if this is old news. I'm excited! I just found out about a new source for UK theses. m has heaps of digitized theses on any number of subjects, with more coming online daily. Just dithering about, I discovered a thesis called "Knightly armour in England in the age of the b...

Bob, that's unfortunate. I was hoping you'd have some of the Elizabethan green and blackware pottery back again this year. If you have anything left, I'd love to take a look at it, especially a porringer or something. What do you have? Unfortunately, nothing like that. While I've got some of the gr...

Can you divulge any rough costs, or is that proprietary? tax refund season is coming No, it's not proprietary; it's just complicated. There's a lot goes into making an historical garment, all of which impacts the final price. Materials, embellishments, the amount of hand-stitching, etc. - all these...

Unfortunately, no. We're out of that line now, and we've decided to concentrate on clothing, patterns and notions.

Did you need something specific? I've still got a few pieces left.

Dan, Right on, brother. Testify. The urge toward documentation in the "dress-up-in-funny-clothes-on-weekends" hobbyists is excellent. I find it more laudable when people - like you - place an overarching rule over their documentation: Do not make the rare common and the common rare. Sure, ...

I respect everyone's faith. I despise everyone's religion. Faith fulfills a basic human need to believe in something. Religion is a fabrication by the powerful to control the weak. While I theoreticaly heartily agree, the lack of church in the "official" side of the SCA does serve to make some of us (Jews, Moslems, ...various neo-Pagans) substantialy more comfortible in the SCA setting then we otherwise may have been. Arguably a far more useful (maybe even valuable)...

"Always"? One makes statements like "trunkhose were always paned" at their peril.

Beyond that, what exactly are you talking about? "Paned" and "slashed" are different things.

I want to butt in and say that the helm pictured above is a very good look for the harness discussed in the ITWBA Roundhead thread.
