m m I have a friend that uses this. He said that his insurance paid all but $17 of the $975 cost, and would have paid at much of the differerence between that and the $1200cost of the Donjoy Armor version (this is apparently customized with the patient's designs. He also said that Donjoy covered the...

Have you oiled them? They might appear a bit more blue then. I suspect that it has to do with early blueing using logwood, or potassium nitrate (Oxacala blue, because this was done in the 16thC in Mexico). Blueing became the term for artificially oxidizing steel regardless of the final color, much l...

Here's a question in this same vein: Is it wrong, to strike without injury, in a manner specifically designed to discourage an opponent from resurrecting?. In other words, turning it up to break their spirit but not their body? Falcone what falcone means is, for example, in a long res battle hittin...

now if someone wants to walk around in a full plate kit made of appropriate material (steel) and move at half the speed i can move with my no armour wearing self then i can agree with the argument (well as much as i can with the magic bullet arrows we have to suffer with in the sca). but if a guy c...

They wouldn't have distressed it when it was new. I don't think it looks quite as 'dark' as the original drawing. And how long are you going to make us wait to see you wear it with the breastplate, gauntlets, or whatever you currently h...

With kindness... AoC That does seem to be your nature, I've never seen you write in any other way. I think it is sort of like laws vs ethics. Your code of ethics might prevent you from doing something that is legal, but you view as wrong, or "inappropriate". I don't think that we are trying to infl...

NO. II. RULES OF THE LISTS A. The basic rules for SCA combat are contained in the Rules of the Lists. These rules were not originally designed to cover non-tourney field activities such as wars, combat archery, and period fencing, but have been extended to cover these activities. The observance of h...

Hmmm...I am not a fan of the winner's bracket/loser's bracket double elim, but I don't actually think that there is really any problem with standard double elim. Makes for a relatively luck of the draw scenario, influenced slightly for Crown tourneys by seeding the belts equally across the fields. ...

Just to be clear, my suggestion to ban left-handed fighters was an attempt to humorously illustrate how a well-intended SEM might act to "fix" a perceived problem (excessive instances of groin shots) through unilateral legislation. I am not actually advocating this (so long as everyone understands ...

Could someone pm me the link to the second fight everyone else is apparently seeing? I'm blind or something, I'm only seeing the "Hold, stop that fight!" video that was first posted. The hugging was funny. The one guy dropped his mace on teh first shot and had no other choice but to try for a takedown. I personally thought it to be a simple boxstep dance ! LOL He finally got in and dropped him and pummled him with his gauntlets to teh helm to get him to yield. The crowd laughed...

It is nice to know what one is actually getting. I wasted a small amount on an A&A book that was actually about the new building the collection was in. It had a few line drawings of unidentified armors in it, and I think, one picture of the main room. No detail, of course. And people would probably ...
