Be aware that international wire transfer fees can be more than you expect. I ordered 8 copies and when I went to Wells Fargo to send the wire transfer, they told me the fee was $42! Ouch. If I knew it was going to be so high, I would have ordered another couple of copies. - Scott What was the ship...

There are similar ones that are original, I believe. I'm not sure there is any way to tell if this one is the same as the one originally on this particular helmet. Whawell sold a LOT of armor. There is a bit of debate on the best way to 'restore' missing parts, and they did whatever they wanted in t...

I don't think shields ever went away, they were always the cheapest way to protect a low level soldier. There are some Italian paintings that show footsoldiers with shields, c1460-1490, and they do not appear to be pavises, either in form (large oval), or function. I'll try to remember to look for t...

Rather like I have no structural support in the shoulder to help hold it up. It seems a different set up might help but honestly I have no idea what that might be. When I found I could no longer ignore, or compensate for my shoulder, it was at a renfair. Saturday, I was my usual self, killing every...

I had some serious problems, with my shoulders (mostly the shield side) 'sub-luxating' (nearly dislocating) as many as 4-5 times a day, sometimes from doing strenous things like reaching into my pocket for my cellphone. Or catching my sleeve on a nail while walking... I took it easy for a long time ...

Here is what the result of the conversation was: That it may be legal, but it isn't very nice and isn't going to win a person many friends? I wasn't there, so this is second hand. Agree/disagree, why? So, I take it that there is no one here in agreement with the comment? I've done it quite effectiv...
