With camail? No, not too bad. If the camail is made right, it should rest most of its weight on your shoulders, and not be noticed. It should also not affect your balance. Can you bend over and not keep going?

They are a good, but not entirely reliable start. An artists drawing is his interpretation of something he saw. Would my drawing of your face be good enough to go on your DL? At a couple A&S competitions/displays in Calontir, there have been a couple judges that have behaved in similar fashions. They are no longer asked/allowed to judge (even if it's a laurel). In some kingdoms (sumptuary laws and traditions vary) a squire's chain would be an unadorned (no pendants) silver chain, while a gold unadorned chain would be reserved for a knight.

Lined armor

I'm getting just a bit tired of the plates on my pauldrons scratching the ones beneath. I know that in period, armor was often lined with leather/suede/velvet. Sometimes there were tabs that were rolled over (pecadills?). Are there different periods where one lining material were much more predomina...

Perhaps when we say and think "lance" we are thinking primarily of a specialized tournament weapon that is not designed to kill, but in some cases to break. A lance "a outtrance" might only have a vague similarity to this tournament version. Formula 1 vs stock car?
