I use a pair of linesmans pliers in one hand, and a pair of 8" needlenose in the other. I tend to keep my hands perpendicular to one another.

Ok... so the "wave" is out (or are you referring to the SCA specific " bar twisted and split" fork? As to the tang/handle I am trying to find something that could easily be stamped, rather than cast, as stamping seems to be cheap. As to the pewter issue, I think you are right, and it may be part of ...

Feastware
Well boredome set in, and I decised to draft some pics of feast gear, and wanted some commentary. I do realize that there is little or no evidence of forks used for most of the period (at least as EATING untinsels) The drawing to ...

Well I dont have any evidence of that plate. The "joke" I implied, was that if we look soley at statuary/ pictographic evidence, we have no frapping clue what the "hidden" edge looked like. Its possible it was straight, or notched, etc. We'll never know. Of course, we also have plenty of statuary/pi...

Maybe a black or red arming cote, and metal "bones" cut out of plates and connected by maille rings, I would say embossing the greaves and bracers to look like they are aflame would be cool too. For the back, continue the bone motif, and put large spike coming off each "verteba" in the "vertebral co...

Introducing: "the Kidney plate" Usable as either B or D, the kidney plate makes life simple, and promotes world peace (wait, it's armour, cant really) Increases overlap, and is supported by statuary evidence(As much as any plate can be represented by only one side showing) http://www.arches.uga.edu/...

Normal B: 1.25" X4" Stubby" 1.25" X 3" "dog tag" 1.5" X 3" Why does the stubby-B have a triangular cut-out? -- it should be identical to the other one, just stubier. Because I drew it that way...LOL Seriously, the tecnique I used to but the ...

Well...provided the alloy contains no lead, or other hazardous metals, and isnt soldered with hazardous materials, AND you make sure there is no tarnish on it...It should be ok... I dont know if i'd eat really acidic foods on it, but that's just me You might also try stainless steels... -+G --------...

I could be wrong AG, but according to the volume of the cylinder, and the density of lead, it came out to be something like 53 lbs here's the same type of calculation for the weight of the 4" peice (we assume that the radius is 1/2 the diameter (735 /2 = 3.75) Formula for volume of a cylinder : r^2 ...

A thought on commercial rivetted maille
Last night I was talking to T-bob, and had a bit of an idea involving commercial rivetted maille (of the round rivet/ indian persuasion). I understand that using authentic wedge rivets and peircing rather than punching the rings adds a great deal of time and effort to the process, driving the price ...
