That was the entire purpose of my posts: teaching people how to avoid "commander keen" shoulders.

Teaching people how to get them is easy, esp considering that there is usually a seam over the shoulder.

Wasn't that an old EGA video game from the early 1990's? Yeah it was, however the term kinda refers to the classic sci-fi costuming "trick" of having protrusive shoulders to show "futuristic" clothing. A good example would be the ST:TNG romulans. <img src="http://www.fortunecity.com/tattooine/const...

While the solution is terribly oop, why not use fibre glass "dome poles" to form the hoop? it should be light, elastic, and easy to pack. (I guess a similar period solution would have involved river cane or saplings or some such) As for venting, it woul look big pimpin if you made some of those "dor...

For most people, you are looking at removing a 15-30 degree triangle from the top of the rectangle that is the front body panel (and similar on the back) If you dont do this, an unsleeved garment will tend to have "Commander keen" shoulders due tot he fact that your shoulders slope. More so if you'v...

Short answer: we dont know how they were made. Long answer: I've seen no iconic proof to indicate that a garment without side seams was regularly worn over armour during the 13th century. Anneal the rivets- heat them to glowing and quench (the opposite way you do steel)

And make smaller holes

And get a lead block to rivet onto. (I've made due witha couple layers of leather... but lead or tin is better)

my thought would be to heat them up to warm (maybe in a oven on warm) and then blow into the hole. Alternately, you could snake a baloon inside, inflate it to force the sides out and warm with a hair dryer to re-set the wax.

No type is listed on the picture, though the credit is from

Mercer, Eric, Furniture 700-1700, (Des Moines and New York: Meredith Press, 1969), figure 142.

So I can look it up next week at school.
