Anyone can propose a deed. The devil is in promoting it. Don't be prideful. Send proper letters (there was a good TI a couple years back on medieval letter writing) to those you would like to meet (and those who you probably should invite). As for inspiration, What inspires you? It is easy enough to...

If people are interested, then yes. However, only one person bid on them, so i was a little wary of churning them out en masse. Plus, the price he got was a hell of a steal as i figure it. So... If people are interested, let me know.

Hypothetical situation (From What's up with the King thread)

It was mentioned (in the thread about HRM Godwine and meridean fencing) the power of royal Whim. How far does this go? How much of the following would fly? I become King (Yeah right). I decide that Heavy fighting is dangerous. (Well, it CAN be) I use royal whim to ban it at events and practices (eve...

Did you use a fume hood with that hot zinc? How do you plate the steel in copper? Electroplating? You might be able to electroplate directly with bronze. It's worth investigating. What's bronze and what's brass is a bit subjective, but generally if it's mostly copper and zinc it's brass, and if it'...

plate with copper.

hot dip in zinc

Apply torch.

The zinc and copper melt to form brass (or is that bronze?)

I was under the impression the beads were strung snugly and that you moved the whole string along through your fingers (like a rosary). Are you implying beads are moved along like an abacus? Interesting... Some obviously were: <img src="http://www.nationalgallery.org.uk/WebMedia/Images/65/NG654/eNG...

One thing that you might want to consider is leaving a little bit of extra space on the string so the user can move them when doing the counting during aves. It is hard to tell, but there is a "2-bead" gap. it is very short, only 10 or 12 beads, so you might be right with your interpretation of a s...

I think the problem comes in when you realize that chausse means hose, as does hosen. In the period, it is most likely that a frenchman would call his leg coverings Chausses, a german man hosen, etc, irrespective of the century.
