I tried to point out that steel is steel, etc. I a...

Please don't lecture me about Latigo, or the definition of Oxblood. I know a lot about both. As for the belt, it IS burgundy. I changed the picture file to black and white to lower the file size.

re: the photo of the belt -

You'll have to ask Alfred of Carlyle, as it is a pic He posted a long time ago. My guess is that it is that oxblood latigo everyone is so fond of.

now my question is this: Should shield size be correlated to one's body? IE is it more accurate for a 6'5" fellow with a 48" waist to have an X by X shield, just like the 5'8" guy from back the day with a 36" waist? Or to have a shield that is of the same shape, but fit for his body? I'v alwasy wond...

This is how things like APD's get added to the rules. It is sad, but I can see it coming. As an aside, we (meridies) do tend to have more than our share of marshalls who enforce the rules as they understand them (which is to say, not very well) I've seen hex head cap screws casue a shield to bounce,...

3) Direct succession: King's choice of next King. Doesnt he in effect have this option already? I mean a king can set the rules for his tournament, and is the final authority on who is acceptable to the crown. Could a king not, If he so desired, only let one person take the field? or just his buddi...

IF it could be done, it would most likely be made of resin impregnated leather. That, I believe, would give the proper rigidity, and perhaps the neccesarry weight. BUT, no one would pass it, regardless of whether it was identical in properties to a steel helmet. Too much against the Orthodoxy.

It is just the idea that a group of guys could continue to either put people on the throne, or keep someone off it, and the corruption that goes along with all that, that makes it a bad idea in my book. Is this not possible already? I mean if I had a Great household, of questionable ethics, we coud...

Kinda... but more flexible. There are no measurments on the picture, they have to be filled in, but if your legs are not really shaped "right", the tapers drawn won't work.

I would reccomend electrolytic rust removal, followed by a 3m green scrubby to remove the black stuff that forms. If you want to re-pad and strap, there are a crap ton of ideas on that. My suggestion would be to rivet leather on the gaunt, then sew that leather to the glove or what have you. couple ...
