here are the relevant posts, I've removed the relevant names, save mine: Salve! Now you can stamp your letters with your kingdom's very own marking (sort of, though)! Vale. -Person 1 I hope the SCA corporate finds this amusing; if not the people who are selling the stamps are likely to be in deep po...

and where do fearies and demons fit in historically? Well, there are MANY more refrences to faeries and daemons than there are to say whether stab stitching or running stiches were used to join hosen. We have more iconographic evidence of Dragons than we have of many other things... but I'm just be...

When I do business with a vendor, I do not want "luck" to play any part in the transaction. No one WANT's It, but everyone gets it. Especially if the vendor in question is making something from raw materials. But even for off the shelf (and NON SCA) stuff, I've experieced backorders, shipping probl...

So Tongue in cheek it's not funny. What does the device mean? It means that sometime in the past you had a relative that was a asian hemaphrodite. YOu'll notice the charge is yellow, the color of the mogoloid race, and that it is a boat, which represents a Vagina, and a tower, which is a symbolic ph...

And woe to those who would wear a gorget instead of a mail drape ...as they would have no value in protection. Huh? That doesnt make sense at all. 1) how often do you get a throat shot \ and more importantly 2) how does a piece of plate armour protect soft tissue less well than a flexible maille dr...

Well, there are 2 camps: One is to use whatever, and make it as unobtrusive as possible (IE flat black gaunts or the like.) The other is to look at what they may have had that was similar, and use that to conjecture what they would have done had they been required to do so. You could modify a gladit...

Would lorica segmetata be appropriate? What shield shape, is this too early for a kite or a tear? What symbolism? What is the likelihood that an average rank and file would be Christian? What style gauntlets? Probably I'm guessing if this is post "in hoc signo vinces" a chi-rho" might be appropriat...

-small lights and a computer--with deep cycle marine batteries before, I find this hastilude regarding the use of deep cycle marine batteries to power heating elements amusing in the extreme. i can, and do, think that some people have refused to call shots that they normally would otherwise for whatever reason. i just can not prove it and have no way of knowing. but i will never call a man a liar on a simply suspicion. well, actually, if you are going to use a battery of batteries (yes that's proper usage) there is no reason to even bother moving cables, just wire them in parallel (pos to pos, neg to neg etc to the end) and they will provide the nominal 12 volts for a longer period. And not bothering with the sola...

Well if your car battery is like mine, you'll be toasty for a couple hours, and need a jump in the morning. Exactly. If you want this kinda set-up you need to get a deep cycle battery for storage. To deal with re-charging issues you have a couple options: Drive a stick shift and pop the clutch. Rig...
