You can, as a friend, suggest that he seek medical advice or consent. Speaking as a Kingdom Earl Marshal, you cannot, as a Marshal, require him to see a doctor. If you tell one person the HAVE TO then anyone else in the SCA lets someone else fight without a release, you are guilty and by extension ...

Re: Cross-Hilt on the cheap? (SCA)

What are some good methods for making a reasonable looking, yet dirt-cheap crosshilt for a single-handed SCA sword (arming sword, whatever you want to call it). I've been thinking about making one from a pair of short rattan cutoffs, shaved to not-quite-half of their thickness, and cut a semi-circu...

I am 6'7 and about 360. I am a power lifter (weightlifter)...and I am an armourer who has made very large pieces for myself. However I want to make a point here. I should have clarified: I'm looking for premade straps, in long lengths, like 6', at about .5"-.75" wide. If you really need them 6' in length, you are going to be paying a premium. There isn't all that much on a hide that gives you that length. I would probably try The Real Leather Peop...

New kid in our group is 6'5, about 500 lbs and has a knee diameter of 26 inches. Also, one knee (the right, I believe) would have to accomodate the added diameter of a perscription knee brace. Anybody make anything that large? Baron Hamish Circumference... please tell me you meant circumference Oth...

I dated an SCA lady for a few years who kept a sheep-castrator tool and the bands for it next to her bed, on the bedside table. It was more of a joke, but what got me was I was apparently the only one who recognized what it was. You must value your junk more than the other fellers, you do reasearch.
