One point that my Knight made about pole-arm hafts: For the longest time, I always sought out the straightest possible pieces of rattan for pole-arm hafts. Then my Knight explained something to me. Use a slightly curved piece for a pole-arm haft. Align the blade such that when you relax your grip, ...

Ya know, it so damned cool for a newbie metal pounder like me that I'm almost embarassed to say what it was... but I will. It was an honest-to-god full sized ball stake. EASILY worth $40 on its own. So take heed ye denizens of the AA: When Hal throws in a mystery suprise tool, he farkin MEANS it. I...

I bought a stave from Icefalcon at pennsic once because i looked down while my buddy was trying on a bp and saw this piece glowing in the pile, and angels singing. it was about 10 ft long straigh and tapered...

I saw a fellwo getting spoken to because the white knotted cotton cord taht went so well with his monks attire was to knightly looking. Kinda sad realy when you see it in context. You basicly need to decide if you want to have to explain yourself to people who take issue with it. Whoever call him o...

Re: Cleaning new riveted mail
I recently bought a stainless riveted chainmail hauberk and of course it has lots of black that comes off onto everything. Does anyone have a way to clean it without having to subject myself and it to harsh chemicals? I tried using regualr car wash soap and a bucket. This process did clean alot of ...

My Housebrother and I Last Pennsic. He lurks. When I get my new Helm i will try to talk Strongbow into doing a picture with me. I will try to talk him into some tastefull nudity, if you all want. As soon as I get my new legs, you're on. But trust me, ya'll do NOT want to see either of us naked. Not...

I very much appreciate the work done and respect those that can make reproductions. I'd be spending way too much time figuring out how t...

Re: 14ga alum. BP?
I am doing some teaching demo's. I have decided to use 14ga aluminum. I am going to practice using it by making a german gothic front and back (no faulds) with all the fluting that comes with it. Or, I will make it 15th cent. Italian. My question is would it hold up to combat? I doubt it will which...
