Never knew Wombat was Bi-polar. Explains a lot.

To those who asked about why the local sca group doesn't do anything. Well he is in Alaska, a state that is bigger than most other countries in the world. Kind of hard to nail down an area.

I am actually in the market for a helm that would look very much like the origional helm featured by the origional poster, before it was pimped. Of course I dont want it to be red and rusty, heh, but that design is exactly what I am looking for, minus the raiseable bar visor. Pretty much all I want...

Re: New helm from an old helm?

I have a workhorse helm (centerpoint bascinet with welded face grill) that is not beautiful by any stretch of the imagination. As I have recently decided upon a new persona (11th c Norman), and I lack the funds for a totally new helm, I was wondering what the options were for re-working my existing...

Thats the problem when your entire fighting style is predicated upon speed. Not speed with focus, not speed with force lines and intent, just speed. You get lots of slop that wouldnt work in any way shape or form when you try and translate it to the use of real swords. I'm coming at this from the p...

Look at sources like the Maciejowski bible. You won't see a single english livery bow, but atleast 3 or 4 images of recurved bows with distinctive siyahs. The recurve composite bows were known in europe, (they would have been exposed to them by the crusades if they hadn't known about the greeks, sc...
