I think it's ebay policy that they must contact each other within 3 days. So if the auction ended on Friday after you leave work, you REALLY should make sure you contact on Monday morning...and leaving feedback over the weekend is unreasonable. UNLESS they state in their auction that you are require...

I protect my sword arm about as aggressively as my head. I hate fighting off hand, and if my opponent doesn't beat me to the punch offering to let me lose my shield arm, I yield, unless he's at a disadvantage. But me off hand vs. someone at full strenght, not much of a fight. http://www.armourarchiv...

Thanks for that clarification. I knew I could see that they had some specific safety stuff going on. Just like every other group that does more than stated combat...we want to kill our friends, not hurt them.

I also noticed that there wasn't much for shots thrown at the face, neck and head. ALL the spears are pointing down. I don't think I saw a spear shot that was higher than belly level in the whole video. I'm not suggesting that's a BAD thing, mind you...if I was wearing an open faced helm I woulnd't ...

I've flung 200 pound fighters with a pole arm...it's technique. I have a squire sister who's not very big. She's tough. I've met tiny tough women fighters. They know their risks, they fight with heart, and I'm proud to share the field with them. We've got a guy who occasionally shows up at our baron...

I usually like to let a new fighter play around a bit before I want to see them on a pell. First of all, they aren't interested in hitting a pell, they came to fight...so let's KEEP their interest by letting them play. They won't all of a sudden enforce bad habits in a practice or two that can't be ...

I can only agree with what Jean Richard had to say. It's a tough path to walk, working with the new fighters, giving them a sense of fun, accomplishment, progress and reality. In the "old days" from what I understand, there was often far too much REALITY given to new fighters and not enough of the r...

Well...if the fight were a samurai in a kimono vs a knight in a shirt, I may be inclined to bet on the samurai, or at least give him a fair chance, for sure. But if they're both fully armoured, I'll give odds if someone wants to take the samurai. I don't care how good his swordsmanship is...we all k...

I won't get into the argument that a wrap with a sword to the back of the helm would or wouldn't be effective. But if you think someone with a spiked mace/flail throwing that ball around into the back of the head of someone wearing a simple Norman conical and a coif wouldn't cause stunning effect an...

A) You know how to spell "assume"? I went to college on a debate scholarship. I have studied logic. There is nothing wrong with my question. If you're too inarticulate to be able to tell me what's wrong with it, then I have doubt that you studied logic (or understood it) myself. B) Left. If I had to...

From an SCA standpoint, it'd depend on the design of both units and which way is more comfortable. I think that on the outside is more common. From a historical perspective, it's totally different. The gorget was very different than the SCA wears them. MANY historical suits of armour had no gorget, ...

I wasn't really referring to something like a bar grill bascinet, more than the helms like Ashcraft Baker's round football bar grill that has ZERO historical basis (like his spangen that doesn't have spangens)... the ones that look like upside down bar grilled trash cans. Note to Bascot: Not everyone in the SCA thinks our weapons would do the damage that seems to be implied by our rules. there are no thickness requirements for clackers as long as their design doesn't allow them to go through an eye slot. It's basically a shaved off section of rattan.
