Where are all these armour store auctions? I normally only look at the militaria-ancient or pre-1700.

Funny...there's an actual #5 Jr. whitney punch on ebay right now... it's up to like $50 used. They're only $60 NEW. Jeeze...I don't think I'd risk buying it used for only $10 less...who knows how much life is in the punches of if they're abused to close to dead.

I'd recommend a hat while welding if you have a HEAD. http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/smile.gif I believe in putting the hat on backwards, then the welding mask, so the sparks it the brim rather than the back of your neck if they go back there. Frankly I think there'd be a terrific market for the general populace as well as the pros. Advice from armourers on a punch please

I want to buy a punch. I keep hearing "Whitney Punch" and if that's the best, that's cool. So I'm looking around and I find Roper Whitney. That sounds like a different company. Is that the right punch? I don't want a Harbor Freight type knockoff. I want the real thing. If you have a link to a good s...

A) Shaped handle helps a bit. B) A straight up and down handle is easier to make turn....see the third picture...you may even want up to 10 degrees more angle. Harder to turn the shield when they're fighting against an angle. C) Move. If they've gone to the effort to push you on your right side of t...

Dunk actually won the crown with a small strapped heater fighting a guy with a round, but he fights a lot of round. I currently have a reasonably large number of weaknesses...but flat snaps to the body aren't one of them. If my shield is anywhere in the neighborhood, flat snaps don't get to me. I do...

A) My shield has a deffinate curve. I don't know how much, exactly. Maybe 2-3". I'd have to measure, frankly. It's fairly gentle. B) Yeah, the offset handle makes it much more comfortable to handle. C) I'm curious about your comment on the tabling of a shield. I could chalk it up to "your milage may...

I was horribly shield-challenged. I tried heaters and other stuff...didn't work for me at all. For me it wasn't a shield problem, but a STRAPPED shield problem. IE, What Samuel said.
