I want spring steel gauntlets
So what do I have to do to get a pair of GOOD spring steel gauntlets? That fit totally correctly and all that? I've been looking for years. Every time an armourer seems to be about to make then, bad things happen.

I always thought that was too far from our area, so when the owner decided to charge a lot more for rent (due to the fact Beaumont now has a castle there and so he felt it was worth more for rent ), I offerred up my place which is only 30 miles from our two major cities that make up our shire. That...

personal opinion here (and im just piggy backing georges comment and mine is totally unrelated to his): why is it that men (and women) get all pissy towards the other person? thats stupid. if i came home and found my woman in bed with another guy i would deal with her, not him. what commitment does...

It's a silly thing to discuss. I should have dropped it, because it didn't really matter. When I read the first statement, it seemed to imply that the feelings were unanimous. If it had said "albeit NOT unanimous" then that would read to me as an admission that it wasn't, but still widespread. To me...

The only way I can support this is because Lochac is a sovereign Kingdom, and they should be free to make their own choices. As long as they realize that the rest of the world doesn't play that way, let 'em have at it. Odo I think the reason to support it is that they're a different corporation tha...

Sorry, Raito...yes, what Iaenmor said.... They need to get hit, even if they feel that they can't handle getting hit...otherwise they shouldn't be able to authorize. Why should they get hit? Because they probably WILL get hit. Raito, it more of a question of were Sir Morgan should have put his comma...

The third post wholeheartedly embraced it, so I'd think it's not unanimous. LOL Yes. That would be, I suppose, why he wrote "if not unanimous". That means something quite different from "and completely unanimous" where I come from Where *I* come from, when someone says, "if not unanimous" they're i...

I'll tell the story of the only time I intentionally hurt (not injured) someone as an illustration. The story of this guy is pretty long and I won't tell it all here. Suffice it to say he was a bit whiney and wouldn't do anything for himself, including armouring, weapon making or anything. A year an...

I do not consider this chivalrous. You may only ruin the game for the individual for this battle, or war, but enough of it and they might quit. Why not just hit them in the cup? They won't need that to work on Monday. Kill them in the battle? Fine. Take their arm in the battle? Fine. Make it so the...

In Ansteorra we have archers who are NOT authorized in ANTHING but Combat Archery. Calibration is still part of their training. They just don't have to fight sword and shield to get authorized. I'm all for getting everyone on the field that can, but I think that the borderline adults who want to get...

Brief Review...Icefalcon
I was in a bit of a pickle, unable to finish a spring steel arm project with crown just a bit over a week away. So I talked to IceFalcon about a pair of his light aluminium arms. They're something I could make myself sure, but I didn't have the time, my garage is a mess still from the move in... And...

While I, in conttrast, love combat archers, I am against non-contact archers. Sorry, but I can't support that. If youre going to be on the field during combat, you should be prepared to be struck. (marshalls excluded, of course ) Dude...have you ever marshalled at a big war? I got hit several times...
