But I hate goofy ass forced weapon crud. Interestingly most period accounts we have, imply matched weapons for the combat. My impression has been that in the context of western Europe, that prowess is prowess, you put men out with equal weapons and see the results. Different for the SCA best form m...

Their Majesties decided to make the first round a challange round and divided the competitors evenly by precedence. Then the lower precendence competitors challanged the higher precendence fighters for the first round. This is unfamiliar territory for Gleann Abhann, but folks got into it. Now THAT ...

I just like to fight. I don't much care the format. If you want to be king, you should be prepared to beat the best in the list. If you don't have to do that, well, that's your good fortune, but you should be prepared. I don't care if it's single elim, double elim, powered pooling, round robin.... i...

I've never done buisness with him, but Waldryk's get on the field special is a fairly good deal for $400 in the brushed finish. m Given the very recent issues posted, I'd say this is best to not list on a new fighter recommendation. He makes good stuff, but you simply can't afford to let your newco...

My experience in my Barony is quite different than that. We've successfully allowed newer fighters to use pieces of loaner gear at events and gotten it all back. We use judgement on who is allowed to do so, and it's always someone who's been active, working on their kit, and we know where they live ...

I've been hurt and I've been injured. I by far prefer the former. Throwing a shot that you want to hurt is acceptable. Throwing a shot that you want to injure is not, IMO. I know others have said it as well, just throwing in my tuppance.

I'm not sure how I feel about Richard fighting in a wheelchair and considering that already 'legged'. Since if you are legged, you normally can't move around much (the absence of motor control rule), so I'm assuming by locking at the start, he moves into the list and locks his wheels. OK makes sens...

In case anyone thought I was defending Alan, I wasn't. I just said he's never been as bad as Wombat. Wombat has people who placed orders in the 1990s who have yet to receive thier armour.

That's a little like saying that Jeffrey Dahmer wasn't as bad as Bruno Ludke.

It doesn't even have to be verbal to be irritating. Example: My opponent and I close and we throw a bunch of stuff and then separate. He does the " ask a dog a question" head tilt as if to say "That wasn't good?" If I had thought it was good I would have certainly said "Good." So what that head til...

Slow it down. The sword doesn't hit his helm. It MAY have clipped the front of his grill (not sufficient by Atlantian standards) or perhaps the inside edge or tippy on a metal cuisse. It didn't hit him on the top or side of the helm. His sword disappears entirely. It's a very light stick on a very d...

Hm....I'm really thinking hard on this knee thing. The rules don't say you have to be hit 1" above the knee armour. They say you have to be hit 1" above the knee. Unless I'm fighting someone with ungodly unusually built legs, I can't see taking the position you do, Logan, because, as has been previo...
