I'm really REALLY curious about the long term durability of this material. The stuff I've used gets split reasonably quickly. With a metal core I'd think this would last longer. Keep us posted. Or maybe I'll just pony up and get it my darn self. LOL AFTER I get moved into the new house.

Yea, I definitely want to go low profile with the edging. I'm also going to take a stab at a custom, molded plastic or hard leather shield basket that I hope will be much smaller than the steel baskets currently available. Sir Corby has made the most elegant solution to the nasty basket problem and...

If you want to make a cash purchasable award, title, whatever then make a new title up. Make it a Marquis or something so that everyone immediately knows what it is and how it was bought. If there were a new title, I think it might be popular for a few people who felt otherwise inhibited, but socia...

I agree that there are some titles that are beyone purchase, however I believe that some "service" awards could be made sellable. Is $100 bucks to the kingdom coffers worth as much as scrubbing pots at a local event to get an AoA? Is $500 worth a GoA? Will $1000 donation to the kingdom travel fund ...

I LOVE the idea of purchased titles. I love what D. Sebastian's barony has, and I also like the idea of someone getting a court barony for example, for a large cash donation to the kingdom general fund or something. I don't care if it's a "rich douche" who does it. Certainly things like peerages tha...

But WHY? All goals in a game are artificial. All award are artificial. I mean, our "nobility" is granted immediately, and historically that's a higher rank than knighthood. We'd still have goals, those goals would be just as hard to attain, they'd just have a differnet NAME. You're putting far too m...

Let me make a counter proposal that, to me, makes more sense. Why don't we knight everyone? Seriously. Knight 'em all. Upon authorization, we have a knighting ceremony. Obvioulsy nothing like we do now. Then instead of various fighting awards, we have various knightly orders. The highest of them, sa...

I don't think that safety standards across different groups are or should be any different in this regard. Sure, in the SCA we woulnd't have THIS issue, because we require face protection. But the concept is the same... if you have someone who's patently unsafe, and is causing injuries and won't fix...

Not to seem naive, but once you've taken someone's leg, how much more of an advantage do you need?
