I've fallen thousands of times. I haven't taken that many punches. I've always tried to be where the punch wasn't!

Yeah but the Kingdom tradiation is not to take the buffet in the face, unless that has changed. Taking one to the chest should not be that bad. I rally wanted a manly buffet to the face though and I was very happy Duncan came through for me on it (and Gidion as well a month prior) . I am sure you'l...

Awesome Morgan. That is some great news. I"m sorry I am not going to be making Warlord. Sir Guy While you're always missed when you're away from us, I've seen some of the slugfests that have happened right after the final buffet...and you're a pretty big guy. After his Majesty's buffet, I'm not sur...

Yeah, sadly I wasn't up there because I was with the procession line to herald in my baby squire bro... So I had to run when they called for me. It took me all of about 2 seconds to realize what was going on and had to think quickly, and fortunately I remember the scroll text! LOL

Thank you all for your very kind words. I continue to be humbled by the consideration I'm shown on a regular basis by people in the SCA as well as by so many here on the Armour Archive. The event of my elevation is Steppes Warlord, which is the oldest tournament in the kingdom, predating the kingdom...

It was more than worth the run!

(I was far away from the royal pavillion, preparing to herald in another fighter when they called for me. Good thing I have the award text memorized!)

Morgan, very proud little squire brother!

And the SCA does _not_ want everyone to play, it wanst people who support the so called "big tent" to play. Anything that is a threat to the status quo is to be feared and run off, of course thats ture of _every_ large social group. The SCA just tries to pretend that it doesn't do that. And thats a...

Morgan, Years ago when you bought from me, it took on average 1.5 hours to sort through e-mail and spam every day. I never had the production demands or reputation that illusions does. If it takes less than 2.5 a day for Scott's wife I'd be surprised. Add to that checking with Scott on queue, produ...

The two cases I talked about are the most egregious I can think of. In both cases, the individuals struck in the midsection were not what we might call "sveldt" and you could observe the impact that the spear had on both of them. I can't give you "Morg-O-Vision" but I can promise you if you saw both...

I've PERSONALLY seen a guy, taking 1 step forward, take a spear shot in the guy that doubled him over and knocked him on his ass. He stood up and said "it didn't have enough on it." Admittedly, this maybe didn't POP into him, but DAMN. I've PERSONALLY seen a guy, while holding a spear out away from ...

"Falling down" isn't important at all. Visually and sometimes audibly acknowleging the blow sure IS. In a tourney, you must do SOMETHING so the observers on the sideline know you lost and the other person won. Kneel, salute, reverse the sword, yell good... combinations thereof. In melee... as has be...
