Hm. Speaking as someone who has a broken arm becuase of a minor leaping shot, I don't know why "leaping to increase power" is necessarily illegal. Excessive force is illegal. Leaping and not delivering excessive force shouldn't be illegal. HOWEVER, it's a helluva lot harder to control your power whe...

The point is very simple. The requierment of steel thickness is ONLY for those areas where steel is required. Or more specifically, the areas where we require "hard over soft"...knees, elbows, neck. If you're wearing thigh protection, the SCA doesn't give a damn if you wear 30 gague. it's gonna look...

I wish everyone would level thier thrusting tip at my face when closing. I pretty well always fire a cover shot, just depends on which side I'm going to as I close or what I'm trying to do. But my cover shots are the same as my distance-sniper shots, so they're designed to not be a telegraph. That's...

I'd of course have to inspect it, but I think that looks like it would pass the requirements for torso armour for women in the sca. the kidney and shortrip protection is woefully insufficient however. But breasts and groin look well protected, if there is some crotch padding and the leather is reaso...

That's a bad weekend from the standpoint of anyone in the SCA who may want to attend.... Memorial Day weekend is the largest tourney of the year, Steppes Warlord. If you don't get any SCA people usually, then it ins't an issue. Mid June (16-18) has no real SCA conflict, other than Lillies war in Mis...

After teaching a lot of years of self defense classes, I just want to say I agree with you except for the word "or." Replace it with AND and you've got the best advice I can think of. if you can get that kinda muscle memory, good for you. But 9 folks outa 10 ain't got it. Develope good gross muscle ...
