Rehab won't fix that, it sounds like you've got all kinds of labrum damage in there. It's going to take surgery THEN rehab. I'm of course not a doctor, and this is just speculation. But I think you need an orthopod and an MRI.

I have a general question. Why SHOULDN'T someone who "grew up" with the status quo, excelled with the status quo, and enjoys the status quo think the status quo is good? I'm not saying they can't. What is REALLY needed is the 150-300 helm. They're hard to find. The crappy 100 helm is there, and the spendy wonderful helm is there. Really tough to find the 200 helm that looks a lot better than the 100 helm. Just my opinion.

Although the question wasn't stated as such, the question was SCA specific. The answer may or may not be SCA specific. I'd think there are organizatios out there that call their non-knights "unbelted" as well, but I don't know for absolute certain.

Counted Blows to 1000 works well with a barrier, one hand on the barrier, single sword, striles to the barrier arm are immediate disqualification, hand comes off disqualification, armour failure is disqualification.

Not that I'd know first hand, but I'm just saying.

Well, in a number of threads where the autocratic rule by fiat decisions that have come out of the SEM's office have been discussed, what was largely opined by the majority was simply that the SEM should PROPOSE rule changes and put them out for COMMENTARY like the BOD does. Pretty simple. Not a gre...

What' is "the code" for SCA fighting?

This is a fantastic article on team sports and "the code." Is there a code in the SCA? What are some of the basic tenets of "the code"?

I didn't think this belonged on Philosophy of Chivalry, tho I'm sure some of it could spill over. That's life. :)

Ansteorrans CAN move when legged in melee. Just not via knee walking. We're supposed to use our hands and kind of crawl along. It's also fairly silly, IMHO. If realism is the goal, then why not eliminate the know "dropping to the knees" thing entirely? It's terribly unrealistic and just plain silly.

I understand realism. I think that sometimes our rules just don't need to reflect it. Every time a thread like this comes up, I post the same thing, and I think it's a good idea. Our Society needs to have 2 sets of rules that are consistent across the society. We need to have "War" rules and we need...
