Unfortunately, these shipped out the very day that I finished them, so I do not have them available to take further pics of them. I use a steel dishing form, purchased from Iron Monger to do all of my shaping. I shape my leather using the same techniques, (generally apeaking) as metal armourers, by ...

Very nicely done. I really like the amount of attention to detail you put into the piece, and the SCAisms flow with the piece and do not detract from it, such as the bar grill, etc.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

House of the Wolf at Pennsic

Greetings! As Pennsic looms ever closer, I wanted to remind folks that House of the Wolf will indeed be at the war. We will be located with Mandrake Armory, in Master Roderick's traditional location which will be listed in the merchant information booklet. House of the Wolf will be bringing bauzuban...

Leather arms, legs and cuirass

These are some of the projects that I finished up this weekend. They aren't all for the same client. (as will be evidenced by 3 different colors) First the legs: <IMG src="http://www.houseofthewolf.com/gallery/stulegs1.jpg"> <IMG src="http://www.houseofthewolf.com/gallery/stulegs2.jpg"> <IMG src="ht...

I'm fairly certain that you are stuck with dark brown. All of the experiments I have tried to lighten dyed leather has resulted with splotchy results, quite ugly. Russ, I'm not interested in the armour, but I would be highly interested in the leather. I have been recreating historical limb defenses this year, using sole bend leather to some success, but I would love to do up some pieces with this scabbard butt leather and see the results! <IMG src="http://www...

I have found that historically accurate methods for padding, such as gambesons with full arms, and suspension liners with padded coifs make for very comfortable armour that doesn't chaffe. Of course armour that is made for you, sized to your body helps a great deal. This method is a little more expe...
