Good gentles all, I have been blessed to have been approached by two stout men of coat arms to act on my behalf for this Deed at Arms between myself and Lord Lachlann. As a humble squire, I am forbidden by my sire to have a man in my service or sworn to me, for that is a mark above my station accord...

Nothing about the product I will be subcontracting to GAA will change, unless he requests it. The one piece, double loabed design for the bauzuband will remain the same, as will the 3-piece shovel greave. The greave is an upper greave, the outter knee portion, (or shovel) and the integral articulati...

Doesn't sound bad. I'm sure the lack of trouble those particular items will now give you will help you and your employee's focus on more intricate (and historic) orders, now! Please, just, don't do the same thing for many more pieces! Custom tooling, sizing, etc... Is very important for all of the ...

What about custom tooling? can we have that done by you via GAA? Thanks Wulfgar I do not offer any customization stuff in my contract to GAA. Unfortunately, that would take entirely too much time from my customers and it would be very hard to figure out pricing with the sub-contractor rates. Sorry,...

Does this mean more time spent making the european stuff like the georgeous rerbrace you made? Brian Yes, that's what it means. For my work, I want to focus on more historically accurate, less repitition styled armouring. As a full-time job, making the eact same thing 500 times a year or so gets ol...

New Leather demi gauntlets with full thumb

Here is a variation of my demi gauntlet pattern with full articulating thumbs. I set the thumb up on a slot rivet, so that it could articulate in and around, like a thumb moves. <IMG src="http://www.houseofthewolf.com/gallery/sldemi1.jpg"> <IMG src="http://www.houseofthewolf.com/gallery/sldemi2.jpg"...

I order the armour bend from the Leather Factory. It is between 12 - 16 oz, depending on how it comes from the dealer who sells to my distributor.

The average is 14 oz which equates with about 3/16" thick.

Thank you, gentlemen. Actually the leather is 14 - 16 oz armour bend from the leather factory. That's what I make all of my armours from, it is very protective, sturdy and hardenes very readily with water and heat.

Actually, no, I do not use a spacer at all. I use a rivet setter that I bought at the Leather Factory, set the rivet fairly snug, then snip it it as close to flush to the washer as I can. Then I use the rivet setter to begin the peen and finish it up with a ball peen hammer.
