Hey man, it wasn't I who said you hit like girls, it was Uilleag Kind Sir, I dig my own holes quite well enough on my own, I do not require your assistance. Case in point, I will be attending Gulf Wars and would love to show you how "girly" I hit. Btw: The last girl who struck me wrenched my knee. ...

If this is for an A&S competion, I would purchase gesso and use egg tempura paints. m for the gesso m for the paints They last surprisingly well, give the piece a beautiful finish that stands up to combat.....(that's what they used in period). An attempt to dispell an illusion

Greetings all, I just had the most wonderful weekend. It was filled with wonderful hospitality and terrific fighting! I speak of Caer Maer's Investiture in Atlantia. It was my great pleasure to join in the combat with these fine folks, and I must say that I found not one opponent whom I would consid...

I dunno about the crowd where you're at, but around here the atlantians arent really snipers. They throw shots from funky angles and hit you harder than you thought they could from said funky angles. The only thing that ever works for me is to hit them first. Hard. Ok, Animal, I'll go back to snipp...

I've gotta say I like it. it looks almost exactly like mine, only in leather instead of steel. that being said on mine we found then when i look downwards(or got wrapped to the back of the head) the back of th gorget rides up just enough to expose C6, or is it 7... in any case it's the big lumpy on...

You need to define cheap. Most leather armourers on the archive provide inexpensive armour.....compared to the quality the provide. Remeber, with armour, or anything else for that matter, you get what you pay for. I will say this, there are much less expensive ways to get into armour for a newbe tha...

Would the leather have to be replaced periodically, as it grew "limp"? Last summer I made the brief aquaintance of Eric Shippesinker ( m ), and he had this beautiful polished steel articulated gorget for rapier (schlager) combat. It had (I think) two white plastic strips inside on either side of th...

I don't like what thrusting tips do to the balance of my sword. I used to use one all of the time, but like I said, it threw the balance off on my shots and learning how to control that, seemed impossible at the time. When I stopped thrusting, I took the tips off of my swords and never put them back...

Another thought just occured to me. We do have the type of armour that you are asking about. Our EOD, (Explosive Ordenance Desposal), soldiers wear it. It is very effective for dealing with explosive devieces, i.e.: It keeps all of the body parts in one place, but it is very restrictive. You cannot ...

Sir Daniel, From the pictures I have seen from the current conflict the body armour being worn by our soldiers is the same as when I was in, (almost 3 years ago). The armour is constructed of several layers of kevelar and is designed to protect against shrapnel, not direct hits from bullets. (Large ...

I would recommend a nice suede, or even furniture grade about 4 - 5 oz. 1 oz = 1/64", so 4 oz = 1/16". 4 - 5 oz is just above normal garmet weight.

Although most CoP were made with fabric, I like the way leather ones look better!
