Torvaldr, I think the problem may be that the scales are far enough down the page of your site that on just about any browser your customers will have to scroll down to see them. Since you have a place to host your pictures, you can post them right here. This may help you some. You can post them her...

Doug, I've made a few of these out of leather. The odd shaped folks are the most fun to work for. I'm not sure that a lorica is the best choice for your customer. With the waist demension being larger than the chest demension, the only way to get it to work is if you over-lap and articulate the lame...

There have been merchants that have provided them in the past, GAA comes to mind, among others. The problem isn't the market, the problem is keeping them in stock because they sell so quickly. GAA was going through resupply shipments so fast that he hardly ever had stock left for the table at events...

You all are quite welcome. It is pleasure itself to share what I know with others. It is my hope that if we all share what we have learned in our own foibles and follies, more of us will be able to avoid them. When I first started learning leather craft, there were few to pass on to me what I know a...

Frank, Torvald, (sp?) sells leather lamellar plates through his online armoury. Check out his web site. He offers all sorts of different shapes with a pre-punched or not option. So, I think the answer to your question is, yes there is a market. Someone beat you to it, but competition is what free en...

I have been wearing my riveted maille for about a year and a half. It is made to the exact same specs as SoF's maille, total weight is about 20 lbs. I have incorporated leather trim around all of the edges to keep it from fraying and it has worked wonderfully. I wear a pleated wool liene under the m...

I understand what you are asking just fine, Dmitriy. If you follow the steps for heating as I have laid them out, you shouldn't have any distorition at all. What cause's shrinkage and distortion is too much heat, Or if the leather is too wet when heat treating begins. If you are unsure of the accura...

Day 4) Steps 18 - 21 Step 18) Heat treating I set my oven at 180 degrees Fahrenheit and place the project on an aluminum cookie sheet. The aluminum doesn’t transfer the heat directly to the project so there is less chance of scorching. At this point the project should still be damp but not so...

Not to disrespect the good man's lienage or heraldry, but the cow print is a bit too shtcik for a Crown List, IMO. I understand that with the most recent unpleasentness in the Out Lands, a certain amount of humor is a good thing, but such displays take away from the seriousness of selecting a Royal ...

Pricing is always hard to do. I feel that I over-price my stuff. Most of my customers tell me that they love my prices. I look at the competition, and I'm slightly lower priced than some. The formula I use is cost of materials x 3. This covers what you put into it, what you need to make more and the...

Paying for a domain doesn't necessarily mean that your sight shows up on search engines. My site was up for 6 months before it got an honest hit from a potential customer. Advertising here on the Archive helped a lot, as did typing up essays and tutorials. All of that helps build credibility. Your w...

Sav, The reference is to a video/computer game, called "Age of Empires". Cool game and the strategies / economics of it are prety fun, but I wouldn't put too much stock in the historical accuracy. The 'woad warriors' are a 'celtic' military unit in the game and they can throw axes. they are one of t...
