Greetings all, The time is fast approaching when I will no longer be able to take orders. As of next Saturday, the 14th, House of the Wolf Leather Working, will be temporarily closing its doors for orders. This will allow 6 more weeks of production to finish up orders prior to my deployment. As a re...

The splints are simulated with just the rivets. Leo, the pieces are decidedly not brown, it might be the lighting. They aren't true red, but oxblood....the red came out pink, so I had to re-coat them, making them darker....the pictures do not do them justice.

I am not sure what sort of elbow defence will go with these, I would guess some steel couters.....The rivets and washers are brass, yes. :)

Depends on the complexity of the shape vs. the end rigidity deisred, etc. The thinner the leather the easier it is to work, but I prefer 14 - 16 oz armour bends for elbows, knees, necks and hands.....it just gives a better over-all protection. Of course, you can over-come the difficulty in the dishi...

Eric, Yes, I have experienced what you are talking about. I will say that I think two things went wrong here. The first is that you probably got a bad bit of leather. This isn't to say that you were sold crappy leather. What I am saying is that you probably has a a spot on the hide that had a lot of...

Ceddie,

This will be the first GWs in 9 years that I have missed. :( It interferes with some mandatory national gaurd training.

Timothy, yes I am still taking orders, the splinted rerebraces will run $60.00, ($30.00 for the rerebraces + 1 hr for the customization).

What I have done to over-come this, (and it works 90% of the time), is that I have modified my procedure some. You may want to try this o...

Mac Thamhais, The only effect that I have noticed with this style knee on any surface is that it takes getting used to the balance point from your knees because of the way the flare interacts with whatever surface you are kneeling on. They take a little getting used to because of the flairs on the top and bottom edges, but they hold up fine. I have both dropped and called good and set down, (on non-paved surfaces only) and they are holding thier shape as well as thier rigidity just fine.

Maelgwyn had asked me about these, and I thought I would just start a new thread.... I completed these a few months ago and I have been fighting in them fairly regularly.
