I actually buy mine from thier Tampa store. The prices are much better, the service is more forthcomming and the quality is a little better.

The one time I did business with the baltimore store I got an aver quality hide at exorbanent prices and decided to stick with Tampa.

They might work for a basis for chain mitts, but they might be a little clunky. Yes, they are SCA legal as is without a basket hilt. I wonder, do you think you could come up with a pair that work slightly better for that? I think that there might be a market for that. It seems to me that the chain ...

I may have missed it, but when is the date of this "war"? If possible, I would love to beg my knight and squire brothers to attend, it really sounds like fun....as long as everyone can check thier egos at the door.....at least until after the fighting is over.

It really depends on the dealer who sells it to you. Some of the wearhouses have great quality stuff. The commercial grade leather will have a brand or two on them and some range scars, but for the most part there will be about 15 - 18 sq ft of usable leather. The premium grade stuff should be prist...

They are designed to cover the tip, and the thumb lame rides under the finger lames, so there should be two layers of protection. It really depends on how you strap them. The darker pair that you are bidding on, mindwip, has a strap attachment to hold the end of the thumb in place to the glove, eith...

The inside measurement was taken from the edge of the knuckle ridge lame. This lame, when extended, (i.e.: when the hand is straight) rides about 1" inside the metacarple plate, (which covers the back of your hand) In other words, the plate rides 1" before the finger knuckle. The end lame, (the one ...

Here are a few a links to great helms and sugar loafs that I found on the AA pattern archive:

http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/greathelm_ab/

http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/greathelm_sinric/

http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/s ... af_sinric/

http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/s ... f2_sinric/

Is this what you were looking for? There are quite a few helm patterns there... I may be interpreting what you are asking incorrectly though.
