He decided that he wanted a different set and ordered something else, and sold this set back to me.....So, it's for sale again.....It's never been worn, other than to check fit. Everything is straped and r...

Gorget and Spaulder project

Well, I had a client that wanted a simple gorget with my old style spaulders....the catch was that he wanted them pointed together and adjustable.... Here's what I came up with: <IMG src="http://www.houseofthewolf.com/gallery/Misc/rrspauldergorget1.jpg"> <IMG src="http://www.houseofthewolf.com/galle...

Damon, The rules say that there has to be padding in such a way that it doesn't slip or move from the area that needs protection. (I'm paraphrasing here). They do not state how it needs to be attached. Glueing the padding to the knee cop is perfectly legal, as are padded chausses, knee pads, or any ...

Christopher, Well, you can't really see what he is wearing on his thighs, but his lower legs and feet are decidedly covered in mail, with garters directly under the polyens, (knees). There appears to be some sort of tunic directly under the mail hauberk and then the coat of plates. The hauberk comes...

I've wanted to ask you this for a while, as I have never tried it with a hammer.. Rubber mallets will work ok. I have three that I use on a regular basis. Steel mallets / hammers speed up the process, due to thier weight and shape.

In short, they both work well, and you will find a use for both kinds.

Very nice. What's the client going to do for thigh armor? I'm not certain what the client's plans for thigh armour might be. I would recommend pturges, that would be the most common thing, I think, with a segmentata. However, he didn't order anything from me, (or anyone else, that I know of), so he...

Do you bake the pieces of the segmentata individually, or do you put it togeter first and then bake it? I tried a Rohirric style segmented breast for my first cuirass (which was a dumb thing to do for my first torso project), and I partially heat treated them individually. I got kinda....fiddly res...

It looks like you use center bar buckles. Do they tend to sit high up on the bazubands? With my buckles, the center bar holds the buckle away from the surface of my vambraces. The one pic of the baz's, they don't look like they're not sitting flat. Do they sit like that when they're being worn? I'm...

Well all, This is what has come out of the shop this week. A full rig, more or less; lorica segmentata, articulated pauldrons, bauzubands and a pair of shovel greaves. Ok, this is the second attempt I have made at making a gorget, and it's not looking quite right. Any suggestions? What if I made the back collar taller to meet up with the front half?
