They are made from 3 to 4 layers of 12 to 15 ounce vegetable tan leather, glued together with Barges Cement. Then I edge them, drill them and stain them. Someone else asked if I would sell them. Yep, I am thinking $10.

The hame tip is brass, but it is hollow, so not too much weight. I suppose it would be possible to fill it with something to make it heavier. On the sword pictured the balance point is about 6 inches from the crosshilt.

Even as a merchant, the first time I go through merchant row I leave my wallet behind. That way if I think I want something I have all the time going back to my booth to decide if I really need it.

Basically if my driving time is 4 to 6 hours I like to leave by 1 or 2 pm on Sunday as long as I don't have to worry about unpacking until the next day. If I am only an hour or two from home I can stay until the site closes.

You can do a web search for Draft Horse Hame tips and you should be able to find some. I get mine from my leather supplier and he will only sell to a business. You could always order one from me. I can add it to my next leather order and then ship it to you.
