Well Poo Poo on you I can at least help you with numbers. Given the vague measurements you have offered I would gestimate, With a scale 2 inches by 2.5 inches for a waist length shirt you would need approximately 500 to 600 scales For a knee length suit you would need approximately 800 to 900 scales...

Bazuband at Discount from Torvaldr

This bazuband has some minor cosmetic warping down by the wrist. It will not affect the function of the bazuband. Normally this would cost $55.00 I am asking $40.00. Add an elbow for $20.00 and you have your sword and shield arm taken care of. I even have matching demi gauntlets for $25.00 each. Tor...

It was a real joy to see house Starkhad all together as a unit wearing tooled bazubands from me (one of my last tooled projects). I was also great to get to me...

Well the movie 300 Spartans is a movie. Not a documentary. But not to long ago the History Channel did a documentary called Leonides, The Spartans at the Gates of Fire. It was a 2 hour documentary and it was fantastic. It also explained that the Pass was something of a sacred site to King Leonides s...

Just to be clear. I never said not to go see it. I said I wont go see it. Not my cup of tea. Nor did I disparage it or anyone going to see it. All I said was I like the historical one better. Also I have no problem with Sir Brandr making armor from the movie. If there were something in a movie that ...

The movie is called The 300 Spartans produced by 20 Century Fox staring Richard Egan, Sir Ralph Richardson, and Diane Baker. It is terrific! It shows some tactical fighting, formations, and if you watch it you will definitely get the the SCA open field affect. I mean some of the scenes when the shie...

Saw previews. Didn't like it. Read review. I like it even less. Not into Heavy Metal Fantasy. Much prefer classical fantasy. Have copy of 300 Spartans made long ago. MUCH better, and more accurate. Both to what happened, how it happened, who it happened to, and why. Armor looks cool, fighting looks ...

Aha! You have discovered the master plan of the Torvaldr scale armor. Your opponent goes buggy eyed seeing the edges and then you whop him! Actually the scales are stained and hardened in strips and then punched out. It is possible to go back and stain the edges IF it really bothers you, but I find ...

I have a suit of red scale armor that might fit her on the rack and ready to sell. But it would not qualify as "rigid" chest protection. I would just need some measurements to be sure. I also make all my armor to fit. Scaled down is not a problem.

Just to make a point. I know that linen and wool were probably the most common materials used in the Scandinavian area. BUT they did have a material very like cotton. It was harvested from a plant in the Orkneys that is related to cotton. So cotton, or cotton like, material is not out of the questio...

Who wants metal scales?

Okay here is a poll. Who is interested in historical shape and size metal scales, other than lamellar? These would be the heater shield shape that I call dragon scale, and the round bottom shape I call fish scale? AND are you willing to pre-order with a 3 month wait? I need to get a reasonable idea ...
