Splinted Kidney Belt need quick sale for machine repair

Hi all. Money is still too tight after my little medical problem and I need to raise some money to fix one of my sewing machines. *Sarcasm* It isn't too critical, just the machine I sew the canvas coats on for my scale suits. I have a brown splinted kidney belt in stock. It will fit a waist of 38 to...

Actually what I meant by the right kind, was the type you see on boots alot. They only allow moisture to go through in one direction. Just standard grommets would allow moisture to enter the bag. But it is up to the customer, if that is what they want, that is what they get. :D

The canvas does breath on its own, but adding vents should not be a problem, so long as I can find the right type. I hadn't thought of a handle since I use the rope for that. In fact I made the rope on mine long enough that I can loop it over my shoulder to carry across my chest like a baldric.

I did design these to handle serious abuse. I use the same canvas for these that I make my scale armour out of, and a very thick rope. In fact the rope may be too thick. The next generation (if I make them) will likely have a slightly thinner rope. They are sewn together with Z-69 2 ply nylon thread.

It would if anyone was interested but so far no one is even interested in the helm bags. Considering that the helm is the single most expensive piece of equipment in most folks armor, if I can't sell these I probably wont be able to sell those either.

I have tried leather bags and they actually promote rusting. The inside of a helm is usually damp with sweat and/or condensation from breath. Leather does not breath or allow the moisture out. Canvas does breath and like mentioned above, toss an oiled towel in with it.

I have no trouble shipping in whatever way my customer prefers. I usually use DHL and I am already looking into the cost difference in using envelopes instead of boxes. That should also cut the cost.

These helm bags are made from 2 layers of canvas. An outer layer of black, green, red, or blue, with an inner layer of natural. Then a rope draw string. I currently have 1 black and 1 green bag in stock. Dimensions are 34 inches around and 16 inches deep. The bags are $30.00 each plus $8.00 shipping

Look guys, the rules were not made to insult GOOD welders. The rules were made to cover all the welders who THINK they are good. I have seen double welded helms that I have had to bounce. Do not take the rules personally. Understand that in some cases they are over kill so that none of us has to exp...

I wasn't trying to impune your skills or the helm. Only asking about the construction. And I would personally agree that with both the welding and the short spaced rivits it should meet the "equivalent" requirements.

Looks very nice. When you say welded do mean everything is welded and the rivits are only for show? I may be wrong, but I think that SCA standards do not allow brass or copper rivits to be the primary connectors in helms. They are too soft and sheer too easilly.
