Sizes are based on men's work gloves. So if you wear a medium work glove you get a medium pair of gauntlets. Large gets a large and so on.

I may end up using a hand bow for the actual combat archery for its faster rate of fire, then save the crossbow for target, but we'll see. The crossbow will have the poundage to do both.
