Yes there will be a bronze nasal and brow. That will cover the split in the main band and the end of the crest. I may also be hanging a bronze mail camail off it, or bronze splints, or both. It depends. I am getting a bunch of bronze rings from the Ringlord to make a coif to wear under it and have t...

Been working on this for quite a while off and on and am far enough along now to want to share it. I work on it a little a time here and there between orders. Want to barter for a flat ring rivited mail shirt
As the title says. I am interested in essentially getting one of these shirts, like the one from Icefalcon. m But I would like to be able to barter some of my leather armor for at least part of the price, if not a full swap. Say a hardened leather scale coat? It is about the same in value. But I am ...

For those who wondered about the burning accident. I was making corn fritters with 400 degree cooking oil and it exploded. It hit my hands on the balls of both thumbs and in the soft tissue between the thumbs and index finger, and a bit on the back of both hands middle fingers tips. Roughly between ...

Torvaldr Update
Well, I am done with Viking Home Companion performing for the year, (As far as I know) and I have physically recovered from both the burning of my hands with cooking oil, and the rigors of travel. So there is going to be a bit of an explosion of orders going out over the next 2 weeks. If you want an...

Got the bronze sheeting, Thanks!
I need a small piece of sheet bronze to make a nasal and brow for a hardened leather spangenhelm I am making. I would like at least 16 gauge but would rather have 14. It needs to be at least 8X8 inches up to 12X12.
Any help is appreciated.

Need a few shield bosses
Hi all. I need at least 3 round dished shield bosses. I do not want spun bosses. I prefer them to be made from at least 14 gauge mild steel, but 12 gauge would be better. I also would like the inside opening to be 6 1/2 inches wide rather than the 5 to 6 I have been seeing.

Here is the wiki page devoted to this langseax. Also called a scramasax. Over all length 28.4 inches. I would like it to be made of some kind of carbon steel. No idea from the original as to what type of grip it had, though at that length I would expect it to be closer to a sword hilt than a knife. m

Bartering with Torvaldr's Leatherworks
With my new status there are a number of things that I am looking for that I would like to to barter my leatherworking skills and/or armor for. Rivited mail hauberk. I would prefer something short sleeved but knee length. This will be for demo purposes only, though I want it to be battle worthy. I w...

News from Torvaldr's Leatherworks
Hello everyone. Big news for and from me. I have finally been approved for SSDI. What does this mean for Torvaldr's Leatherworks? That as of right now, with the exception of a few folks that have already contacted me about possible orders, the que is closed. I will accept no new orders until all ord...

I have been wanting to try getting my own credit card processing option for a while. If for no other reason than having it available at events. I agree that I needed more stock, and if my shop help hadn't been unable to help me, and my supplier hadn't run out of the correct leather I would have had more gear. I would have hoped that having seen the armor and handled it that that would have reassured you of what you would be getting. And whi...

Poll Take credit cards or not?
I have an opportunity to start taking credit cards for my business. There will be a monthly fee, and transaction fee. Currently I can only take credit cards through paypal. So my question is, would it make any difference to anyone here if I could take credit cards outside of paypal?

Currently I am going to leave them at the same price as my normal bazubands and demis. They are a little more work, and certainly use more material. But currently the material they are using is a huge pile of left overs. Once I have worked my way through the left over pile I may start charging a lit...

The outer layer in this case is all about protection. I have a LOT of left over leather from making my normal bazubands, shovel greaves, and gauntlets. Leather hides are not uniformly thick. So I have huge chunks of 10 to 12 ounce leather that is too thin to used on its own for the heavy stuff anf t...
