Taking and using measurements

Soon i am going to be making a set of gothic arms for someone. i was wonering what measurements i'd need to make it fit perfectly? especially how to make the cop fit nicely. what is the proper name for the cop on a gothic harness i forgot :oops:

I don't mind going down there maybe once a month. same goes for everyone if ya want a picture tell me and i'll get it if i can. the armouries also have a photograph library for those who want to buy detailed prints.

Hijack all you want i have my info. i'm gonna have to get a shear. i found someone in the UK that sells the knockoff for £99. it's taken me all day to cut out the upper half of the breastplate with my cordless jigsaw. Also in a lot of pain cos my latest bow just snapped leaving a nice rectangular...

i thought you meant a longbow. that's what i associate with a war bow. you mean like a siege bow. 50lbs isn't bad for 15 is it.

you mean something in the range of about 130-150 pounds. No offence but you must be a beast of a man. i can pull 42 with ease and could probably manage about 55 bu that is ridiculous.

Stupid me the rings i have are 1/8th of an inch ID. i always thought they were 1/4 inch. thats not too bad then.

wow. that is way too small for my liking. i work with half inch ID rings and thats enough for me. what gauge do you use for rings that small.

i was looking at about an 80-90 pound bow with about a 10-11 inch draw. i was looking to stay with iron and steel rather than having to use aluminium. I'm trying to get as authentic as i can. i will be using a hook suspended off of a belt can't rememebr the proper name for it. does this help you any...

i am making a crossbow soon and was looking to forge a prod for it for that historical look. how thick should i make it and how do i make it spring back and not just bend? thanks for any and all info you can provide

i have about 12 or 13 hammers of which only have 3 in regular rotation. lump, peen, raising hammers. i'm currently making a workshop for myself with built in storage and casting facilities. jealous yet :D . you have a huge backgarden. mines about half the size of that.

all i ahve is 18g. i have a very rough shape hammered out so far and am doing more tommorrow (saturday). i don't have any cracks yet and i've done a lot of work on it.

you could come to my shop(cough,cough) if you want. it's not much but i was thinking that when i join the SCA i could help other beginners make armour to get them on the field. i have stump, anvil and grinding facilities f anyone wants to come up one weekend. i would need notice though.
