i think he wants to know how to fold the atachment plate for the faulds without a bending brake? i would make it in this order.
bend the piece to fit the curve of your body.
Dish the area for your stomach.
bend the fauld attachment plate.

uses of Brass kickplates

I have just scrounged 3 brass kickplates form my dads work. they are
11 6/8 x 2 6/8. i want to use them in armour but i can't think of what to do with them. any suggestions. they are 1/8 thick. all in inches.

you get nicks in 1/4 inch mild. i just finished a leaf shaped sword from 1/4 inch stock and it puts a nice gash in some 18g (uk) without a dent in sight. Raising question

i was thinking of raising one of those funny shield bosses. you know the kind that dip in on the sides. could anyone quickly explain how to raise the dip on the sides and how to make the edges go straight down. hope you understand me. thanxx

there are no patterns. just draw it full size over and over until it looks right. i use 1/4 inch mild steel for my swords. they can cut 18g mild with a hard thrust and place a 1" dent on the edge.

i was thinking of making something but i can't think what to make. i thought maybe a horse skeleton with chanfron and the bit that goes down the spine like a spaulder. maybe 1/4 scale about 1foot and a half tall.

the cheapest bandsaw round me is about 500 pounds and is workshop size. i was thinking of aving up for a B2 it would be very useful but until then i have my trusty jigsaw.

that is an extremely useful tool to people who do riveted maille.(obviously) How long did it take you to make. and if you were to sell it how much would one like that cost. you could probably make quite a bit of money on that.

i buy my blades cheap at car boot sales. they are the same as the ones in the shop but cheaper. i have been using a blade for about 3 months now and have done a great helm and lots of other stuff.
