having visited the royal armouries about half a dozen times i would say it is well worth the trip. there is also the armourers workshop in the craft court. if you'r ethere on the right day he'll be in his workshop.

i went to my local B&Q today and was astounded to see an 18v cordless jigsaw for 30pounds. that's about 20-25 dollars. should i get it. it has a quick release mechanism as well for the blades and different speeds.

i got an anvil a few months ago for about 70pounds. it weighs about 150 pounds and is a bit uncared for but it sure beats the crappy cast iron ones from china. just goes to show that if you look hard enough you can find some good stuff.

very,very,very purdy sallet you have there. nice close fitting visor. no gaps that i can see. i can't help but think that it's very thin front to back. this is not a nit pick, just an observation.

I think we should have some kind of UK armour-in. make it a twice yearly type thing. it can't be held at my house cos i'm only 14 and only have a shed to work from. what do you all think. I only ever seem to talk to people on the board and would rarely get to meet an yof you UK or not.

the rivets look like they were too long when they were peened. they should be as a rough guide the same height as the width of the hole. and maybe a deeper cop. unless your fiend has flat elbows

i was thinking of building a couple of savonarola chairs to take to archery tournaments. they don't look too hard :wink:. i was wondering if white ash would be strong enough to use. they're only going to be used maybe 12 or 13 times a year.
