Nowadays, at least over here in Euroland, it's easier to just say the MM or decimal inch measurement rather than gauge. the gauges and actual thicknesses vary somewhat.

I tihnk i'm going interchangebale , I.e, armour horse Ideally, it'd be a jack, helm, standard and nothing else but i've been thinking of just a mail shirt, and helm or breastplate, voiders, standard and helm or Brig, standard, voisers and helm. As you can see, lots of choices, all sounding like fun ...

Venetian Sallet *pics*

This is the helmet Ralph Snel is building for me to use with my LH kit when all that is completed. It is based off of a group of hjelmets that fall under the name of Celeta alle veneziana. They were, or, at least have ended up visorless. When finished it will be blued/forge blackened and have large ...

The clarke staight shear doens't do radii whatsoever. you just need to chop corners off and round it with a file/grinder. They are very well built for the price and cut barstock up to 8mm i think.

I'll tell you if the clarke one does anyhting like a curve today (i'm off to get one). it probably won't end up pretty, but snipping it until it is round seems simple enough.

Randal, get a clarke 6" shear. sure, it can't cut corners but tis better than a jigsaw! We have one at work and it cuts 3mm bartsock too, which isn't too shabby for a £70 hand shear. www.machinemart.co.uk has them, decent price too. Alternatively, Frost auto restoration tools seels what is basica...
