You all seem quick to be harsh but it could simply be that this guy knows nothing of armour like everyone else not on this board and that he was strung alon by the original seller? Dislexia is also a possibility.

Get a file and turn the drill on, shape away and sand. I've only tried it once but had decent...

If you contact the British museum they should know where it is, being one of their items and all :-)

Check the pattern section, the pattern in there has a back plate. From what i understand and have seen, most sabatons have a heel plate. I personally can't vouch for how much it adds to stability but it wasn't there for fun :D

Bolt box/quiver

I've started to lay out the patterns for an upcoming crossbow and got to looking at ideas for quivers. I haven't seen many around other than the line drawings from Die Armbrust and one or two at distance from the Bildindex. They look to be covered in fur but i'm unsure of the base material. Some des...

Don't get me wrong, it's a wonderful shield, i like it a lot, there aren't many who make them (yet). One thing i can't fathom is why a central ridge/gutter was added when the original is flat?

The handle at the back is very well made by the looks of things. What does it weigh in at?

Hmm, you could try Steve at Forth Armoury?

Or go to www.gdfb.co.uk and buy several faulds and patchwork them with the loose rings they sell.

If you're making a shirt, i think you'd b best off just buying it pre made as a custom piece that large won't be too cheap i'd imagine.
