Personally Cat, i'd buckle it up along the side. If there is only one person putting this on, you can see the strap instead of fumbling around at the back? Just an idea. Unfortunately, i lost all my pics of amntles and standards in the last comp crash or i'd send them to you :?

Cool, nice to see the new toy is working fine. As for the scratches from the hammer, you may want to get a wider one. I find the older claw hammers have wonderfully wide faces.

Well, i'd recommend a bowl or some toher very round and symmetrical piece before a helmet but thats totally up to you. I'd start with around 20 inches for lots of trimming and fluting room later on.

80 a square inch? good lord. Sound about the same size as the mantle i mentioned from the collection of R.T.Gwynn. Will it be alternating or all rivetted?

A shame i couldn't get there, sounds like it was a blast. I must get a hold of the tapes if/when they are out.

Luckily it's over here next year so costs should be much lower. How about integrating a museum trip into it?

The library staff are very nice and will try to egt a hold of the book you're after or will know where it is if they don't have it (unlikely if its about armour). the contact info for the librarian is on the armouries site.
