Just wondering, The gauntlets in the Royal Armoury do not seem to have holes to attach a rider plate. But they are damaged so I could be mistaken. But looking at the avant gauntlet which is somewhat hourglass shaped. Wouldn´t the type of fingers attached make the difference in wether or not the r...

Armets and closehelms do not show the small holes around the edge, yes. But they have a strip of leather rivited to the inside on which the padding is stitched. This might be the same method used on bascinets instead of the direct stitch to the metal.

Hoi Thomas,

That sounds good to me. How much would the ball itself cost?
And what kind of fabrication shop is it? I might have the same kind of shop in the neighbourhood but fabrication shop alone isn't specific enough to search.

Where or how to get ball stakes? (In Europe)

Hoi, I was wondering where you can buy ball stakes in europe or where you can get decent sized ball bearings or other sphere shaped proper steel balls. . I am trying to find anything bigger then 5 cm in diameter and am having a hard time. I allread checked with Hoogovens(or Corus these days) but the...

Well if you'll like it or not will also depend on the material you used. May I ask what kind of of fabric you used for the shell and liner? and what kind of padding? Because if you used anything polyester you'll sweat to death in the thing. Polyester won't absorp sweat and so it won't wick it away f...

You wanted this picked apart? Okay well I will go off what I 'reconise' from the drawing. The breast plate is 15th century Italian. The spaudler/pauldrions are feasible except I myself haven't seen the 2 different types used on the same armour. Also the right pauldren should lose the High Guard as t...
