Yup I think it is. You only want to move the metal along one axis(axl?).
Greetings

Klapvisor
I've allready posted this topic at research and development. But I didn't get any response so I thought I'd try it here. Greetings, I am looking for pictures of authentic Klapvisors or of drawings from manuscripts. I hope someone can help me out because I've been looking around on the web (can't aff...

Looking for authentic Klapvisor pictures.
Greetings, I am looking for pictures of authentic Klapvisors or of drawings from manuscripts. I hope someone can help me out because I've been looking around on the web (can't afford buying books and our library has 1 book about armour) but can't seem to find many. And I myself was planning on a kla...

Hey Saranac, Sorry for being so late to respond. Well We don't got any military folk from the US around so that'll be a problem. Master Floris has arranged a couple of sticks or so I've heard so I'll hear more from him when they do come. And I haven't done to much in the shed between work and school...

I myself wouldn't be interested in a great helm DIY kit. Why? Because patterning and cutting the plates is the easiest part of the helmet. But I would be interested if the upper front and back mplates were very slightly domed as were the originals. But I don't know if you would be doing dishing by h...

Just a question about that white felt. What should I use on the back of ther hand? several strips of 1 inch or should a buy a 3 inch roll? Oh wait I can just buy a 3 inch and cut the fingers from that. Max Edited, because I could think of that before asking *sighs* [This message has been edited by M...

I notice that everybody is leaning towards leather as being cheap. But where I am I am paying 9 euro's for a square feet of 4-5 mm thick leather. While I could also get 18 kilo's worth of steel for the same money. I think a early 14th century with floating arms and gamboised cuisses and a COP would ...

Hail, Magnus could you write a how-to on thos gauntlets? I didn't thought they were list legal but I missed the white felt under the plates. I'll see if I can contact Cheval to ask him he can ask for a little bit more for me to. And if I can get my hands on that white felt I'm planning on making the...

Look around at fighter practices. Get close to as many basket hilts as you can. Look around on the web for the design those people have. Talk with long time fighter what a basket should do. And from there design a basket hilt which protects but also is a light as you can make it. And then if you pla...

Well I was indeed thinking of a ram. And just shove them under it one at a time trough a mechanisme. Rolling would just mess up the overlap at least IMO. The main problem is how do you get the rings after the flattening in a proper order for punching, or would it easier to punch when you have inster...

ceawlin, I know of that company. But it's just no fun to buy maille http://www.armourarchive.org/ubb/biggrin.gif And I mean it's pretty challenging to make a machine which can make decent flattend wedge-rivitted mail. And I'm like Artemis a mechanical engineer and it's just to tempting not to try it...

Hey Artemis, I myself am also a Mechanical Engineer (in training). And I've also been thinking about it. I know there are allready machines who can make maille. But so far I've only seen partly flattend or just forge-welded butted. And I want to try to make flattend, wedge type rivited. Prefferable ...
