Seeking instructions for a power planishing hammer....
Just that. I am in the market to be building one and would like to know if there are any out there, possibly including where to get the parts.
Thanks!
Thanks!

That is something that I would recommend. If you lofe sword and shield (which you do), change to a mace or axe. The shorter weapon will help with much of what is described above (judging range, proper time to rush, tempo, etc...) Something else that I find helps is to change the pace. Go to other pr...

Here are the specific number so far (includes number from me, Mike F, Gruber, Kiyohara, DukeAlaric and Jurgen): 82 sheets (8.9#ea.) - 20ga = 729.8# 56 sheets (16#ea.) - 18ga = 896# 5 sheets (20#ea.) - 16ga = 100# - (from Mike F only if 500# can be met) 5 sheets (25#ea.) - 14ga = 125# Anyone interest...

I hit a platau several months ago. Could really seem to get better. I was practice 3 times a week and eventing at least 2 times a month for 3 months. Then it happened. I was a sideline marshall at (now) Count Felix's Coronation. I watched the non-belts fight a tourney, then watched the belts fight. ...

To start, I would like to say that I am certainly for optional rules. Anything that can add some period technique to what we do is great. For me. Not all think that way, so they must remain optional, as has been stated above. Now.... in defense of something that contradicts that.... the "Momentum" i...

Aaaah.... ok... Well then.... my portion breaks down as such: 20ga - (8.9x4sheets)#35.6 18ga - (16x8sheets)#128 14ga - (25x2sheets)#50 Add Mike to that and we have 20ga - 17.8+35.6 = #53.4 18ga - 32+128 = #160 14ga - #50 So, another #47.6 of 20ga and we hit a price break at the #100 Another #40 of 1...

Lets get some specific numbers together. I have ~#213 on my own with 4-20ga, 8-18ga and 2-14ga - That puts us over the #200 mark already. With Mike F, that is nearly #300, which is the next price break. With Gruber, Alaric and Kiyohara wanting steel too (and possibly others as well), that would put ...

Ok, I believe I see it... I would wager that the reason why the gilded portions of it would last longer are because what it was gilded with does not suffer the same effects as wrought iron when exposed to the elements. Buried in a chamber or in the ground for 1000 years can haev an effect on iron, b...

Tom, There are a few comments scattered through your posts that make me think that you may not be refereing to gilding. Could you give a specific example of what you have looked at that "On the helms I look at routinely, the gilding is often all that is left ." I could be COMPLETELY wrong, but it so...

kiyohara, However, prices may be slightly lower, as they have price breaks at 50, 100, 200, 300 and 500 lbs. If we get a break from quantity I will, of course, spread the love around. Which gives us the #breaks. Price at the base was $4-$5/LB. I believe later he said that the cut at 50# was a dollar...

As of now, I fight from my knees. Of course, I do not (at present) have problems or injuries with my knees. The rules are as such, so I work within them. Should they change, I will work with the new ones. Of course, should I suffere a knee injury, that will change. I would like to see a change - tel...

I dont know of any period uses, but if you have the length (at least 10 inches, once braided) then you can donate it to "Locks of Love" or "Wigs for Kids." I did this twice last year. I have hair to my waist, cut 12 inches off, donated it, then decided to cut the rest and donated it too. It is a GRE...

Additional rules suck, especially when they conflict with one's ability to maintain historical accuracy. I do understand the want for wrist proctection. Given the weaker/thinner bones and having less flesh in the area to absorb, it is more vulnerable to damage. I have only fought once in the past 2 ...
