Ultimately, the learning is the result, be I correct or incorrect. Though based in stubbornness and not arrogance, I hate admitting that I am wrong. Place whatever word upon it that you wish, I cannot stand it. I fight tooth and nail... It is, dare I say, my biggest vice. So.... though the knowledge...

Well... I have just recently completed (in the past couple of months.) a Pembridge style greathelm that I have worn for testing that is hardened and tempered 16ga 1050. Given most helms are 14ga or thicker, the weight of this helm is quite a bit less (about 9 pounds). It was padded with the needed 1...

Oxygen and Acetylene tanks...Suppliers?
I am looking for a low cost supplier for the tanks. Anyone have any that they might share?
I checked eBay and online and both are seeming to lack, unless my search parameter are, themselves, lacking.
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
Thanks!!

The path I have chosen will lead me to knighthood one day. I just imagine that day. And then what, Wulfe? Then, perhaps, I will strive to win Crown. I have recently been asked to design a couple of youth helms myself for the children of a friend (my squire brother). One wishes a Kabuto/mempo and the other a Vendel type helm. I was going to use 16ga 1050 spring, hardened and tempered, as they wish to carry these helms into use as they get older (...

I am doin my best. She said somethign last night about it, so we talked a little (we had just finished watching LOTR trilogy) and anytime she wants to talk about it, I encourage it. So I brought up leather being accurate for a range or periods and locales... So, I am now looking for specifics that I...

Seeking an old post - White tooled leather armour....
I did a search for it here, but could not find it. I do not remember who posted it, nor when it was. It was a reproduction of a leather tooled (arm I think) piece of armour. BEAUTIFUL piece of work. I just cannot find it.... My lady was thinking about a suit of armour for herself and I wanted to sho...

In my researching, I have finally settled on basing my own kit upon that of The Black Prince, with my own heraldry (of course), and Have read that his gambeson's outer layer was of velvet. Unless it is in jest, which it does not seem.... The armour that was worn in A Knight's Tale was far from accurate for what Edward wore. Nothing even close. The armour in the movie is far too advanced for the century in which they are supposed to be. Although an enjoyable story in the movie, it is F...
