Velcome to de Vortex of de Steel!! You will love it, hate it, cry, bleed and laugh. I would start with spaulders (I did). They are the best all-around simple project that encompasses the basics of armouring, as stated above. The "How To" stuff here is a good place to start for information. Where are...

What should be the proportion of the helm? Let me break it down....

The top domed plate attacks to the two top pieces of the helm in proportion to the bottom two pieces....

I will try to post pics of what I mean later if I am not making sense....

I believe it is Wisby C-o-P number 24 or 25 that is a frontal closing C-o-P.

It also have almost 250 plates. It is not with the common 9 to 12 plates of the 1-7 Wisby C-o-Ps

It is in the Battle of Wisby book, including a plate layout.

Greyhelm

You would be looking at, for that period, either a greathelm (Pembridge, Black Prince, etc...) or a basinet (klappviser or pigface)

The statement above about having it fit properly is good juju. You can have a closed helm that offered decent visibility if it is fitted properly.

I would double check with you specific kingdom rules, but I question the lack of interior wrist protection (the cuff does not wrap the whole wrist.)
