My pourpoint & leg harness
A couple of people were asking about part of my 14th Century harness,, so I thought I'd put up a couple pics. Here's my pourpoint holding up my leg harness. The greaves hold themselves up, and yes, I changed out of my chucks before I took the field. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3634/3466022458_45c...

I saw him perform an amazing feat today, that involved beating the CRAP out of ten other people. More on this tomorrow.

That's a pretty cool story. I've hearid a lot from numerous fighters how a slight woman probably won't do well in the shield wall. So it does me good to hear that it's not necessarily the case. It was unbelievable. I mean, those guys REALLY WANTED to get into the castle. I know she took the brunt o...

His Excellency, Sir Rodrigo Falcone, is an example to all good men-at-arms on the way to behave in all situations. I have found, in the past, that women raised in previous generations were societally cheated from a fighting mindset. Therefore, if they choose to take up fighting, it behooves me to ch...

My studies have shown me that us late period types had different harnesses for different types of activities. There was war harness, jousting harness, harness for pushes of pike at the tilts....they weren't necessarily different armours, but they were probably the same harness with interchangeable b...

Sha-ul, PM me your height, chest, waist, and hip measurements and I'll mock you up a pattern. Ken, I'm with you on the 'smock' bit, but terminology is tricksy; my own personal experience has taught me that arming garments of any sort need to fit you pretty closely in order to bear the weight properl...

Looks like a scale fauld to me. Off the top of my head I can't tell you the time and place for the numerous examples of scale faulds I've seen. It's pretty sure we're not talking about anything in place of a COP, those scales are running down to his knees Maybe. I found <a href="http://www.wga.hu/f...
