Your Grace, do you have your cranky pants on today? It's not allowed because the FIE said so. And the FIE makes the rules. I've never directly dealt with FIE (which governs the USFA, which governs US modern competitive fencing), but I have been told that getting rule...

From what i've read, a historical archer could usually fire 8 arrows in a minute, and sometimes the really good archer could fire 10 or more arrows in a single minute. And these bows aren't weak bows, they'd have to be strong enoug hto go through whatever armour was currently being worn. But seeing...

I agree that it is factually correct. In Spain crossbowman were made into knights. There is nothing in that quote that leads me to believe that a crossbowman continued to fight like/as one after being made a belted knight. I just don't buy it. Sir, I ask you to read further down in the citation I q...

Re: Combat Legal Comb Morion

That sounds like a design problem, not a morion problem. I'm willing to bet that the brow visor wasn't reinforced like the burgeonet visors are that I'm used to seeing around here. I think that Glendour welds 1/4" rod on the edge of his, which are 14g minimum. If the brow had been made like th...
