Question: Is this for SCA? Yep. Of course it all depends on what time period of burg you are looking for. Earlier? with the articulated back and no cheek plates or comb? Later? With cheek plates falling buffe, and comd? Super late? With the hinged front/face plate and articulated integrated gorget?...

Cheap burgeonets wanted.

Armorers, I'm thinking of starting a warband based on a late period company of halberdiers. One of my standards would be certain requirements towards a *decent* late period appearance. To that end, I'm wondering if anybody makes (or is willing to make) a very basic, sturdy burgeonet in some stock si...

Donal,

There are examples of a retro Greco-Roman look in a variety of late period armours, and it wouldn't be a stretch to emulate that in the SCA; still falling within our parameters. Phillip II of Spain had such an armour, but I can't find a pic of it right now.

It's funny that this came up when it did, as I am making several musket/clubs for the new Yeniceri warband formi...

I would do it. People hate me anyway. There are times when I find it really odd the way we in the SCA have of mixing our drive for historical accuracy with our passion for a mythic culture. Personally, I've joked (semi-seriously) for years about going out to the field with a unit of musketeers (arqu...
